Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin has announced that an elected Liberal Nationals Government will commit $2.4 million towards the redevelopment of the Monbulk Fire Station.
The upgrade will see a new four-bay station constructed, with fire brigade volunteers being able to work with modern facilities which will assist in improving fire services to the local community and surrounding areas.
Given the brigade’s specialist capability in ropes and road rescue, training is an essential part of their activity and the current facilities are no longer fit for purpose to provide the specialist training required.
Unlike Labor, the Liberal Nationals will always protect those who protect us and ensure they’re safe doing so.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:
“While Daniel Andrews and James Merlino are at war with CFA volunteers, the Liberal Nationals are getting on with funding CFA stations and keeping Victorians and their homes safe.
The credit for this local funding belongs to the community and local candidate, John Schurink who worked together and made the case for this project so they can provide the best for our hard working volunteers.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Monbulk, John Schurink:
“It is vital that the Monbulk community has the resources it needs to fight fires and protect our communities when we need help the most and this new facility will provide that.
The current facilities here at Monbulk are no longer acceptable for a station that not only provides fire response, but turns out for rescue over a large area across the Dandenong Ranges.
These new facilities will improve the health and safety for all volunteers so they can continue to keep not only Monbulk, but all Victorians safe.”
