A Liberal Nationals Government will provide $100,000 for an upgrade of the music facility and a name change at Sherbrooke Community School.
The current facility is an old house that is used by the school for their music curriculum. The house is in desperate need of a refurbishment to make the area functional and safe for students and teachers.
Due to the current state of the music facility, the stench of rodent urine and faeces can be smelt upon entering which is unacceptable in today’s learning environment and a greater health risk to those in the school community.
Part time Education Minister, James Merlino and the Andrews Labor Government have ignored the needs of Sherbrooke Community School for too long, only a Liberal Nationals Government will give them the facilities they need so students can continue to excel.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition, Matthew Guy:
“A Liberal Nationals Government, together with John Schurink will give Sherbrooke the facilities they so desperately need and rightly deserve.
The Sherbrooke Community School has a fabulous music curriculum that needs its facilities upgraded, not ignored.”
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Monbulk, John Schurink:
“Sherbrooke Community School has an outstanding reputation for quality education and extremely proud of the work it undertakes to provide a viable alternate educational setting.
Students come from a wide area around the electorate to enjoy the unique smaller class sizes allowing them to learn in an environment of inclusiveness and support.
By upgrading the facilities here, it will give students here in the Hills further room to learn and grow.”
